Polycrystalline Mullite Alumina Fiber Board is a special type ceramic fiber board with cost effective, utility-grade hot face insulation for use in kilns, furnaces and other thermal process systems operating to temperatures of 1800°C. Polycrystalline Mullite Fiber Board is a carefully controlled combination of polycrystalline alumina fiber (PCW), high-purity alumina filler and inorganic refractory binders. This type ceramic fiber board is low in mass and exhibits low thermal conductivity, good strength and thermal shock resistance. The alumina fiber board is pyrotechnically treated to exhibit low thermally-induced shrinkage. This Polycrystalline Mullite Fiber Board exhibits a tightly-bound consistency making it suitable for building into Butcher-Block furnace roof and wall components. It is readily bonded using STA Ceramics’ Alumina Cement Type HT-ALSUPER.
Applications of Polycrystalline Mullite Alumina Fiber Board:
High-temperature furnaces
Metal melting, holding and transfer
Hot wall applications
Catalyst Towers
Semiconductor processing
Glass, ceramic and wire processing
Analytical instrumentation.
